Q&A with Noah Guthrie

What was the first concert you attended?
I’m pretty sure the first real concert I ever went to was a “D.C. Talk” concert haha. They were a christian rock group (almost boy band) back in the late 90’s and early 2000’s.

Where and when was the first show you played?
Little River Coffee Bar in Spartanburg, SC

If you could open for any artist in the next year, who would it be?
I would love to open for Mumford and Sons because of the energy that their crowds are known for. And because I would fan girl the whole time haha.

What 3 artists have you listened to obsessively in the last month?
“The New Basement Tapes, The Avett Brothers, and Gungor.”

What did you want to be when you were growing up?
Well, I was always surrounded by music since I was little and always sang a lot but for the longest time I wanted to be a magician. Then I got into high school and realized that wasn’t a great way to get a girlfriend so I started singing and playing music and got a girlfriend so I’ve been doing that ever since.

What is your favorite phrase?
Hang in there like a rusty fish hook.

Cat person, dog person, or both?
Both but I guess I lean towards dogs.

What would most people be surprised to learn about you?
My brother and I have a physical list of over 60 nicknames for our dog, Saban. Each of which he responds to.
