Where and when was the first show you played?  The high school talent show my senior year. I was 17. It did not go well.

What is your most memorable or off-the-wall touring experience? I crashed with a random stranger when I had car trouble. They turned out to be a "freegan." Meaning, they didn't buy anything. So... I slept on a mattress found on a highway and food found in a dumpster and lived to tell the tale.

Which of your songs is your favorite and why? Whatever my newest song is. It's like a brand new baby. It reminds of how beautiful it is to bring something new into the world.

If you could open for any artist in the next year, who would it be? Bruno Mars. Is such a great showman, writer, and producer. It would be unbelievable to be a part of that as a peer.

What 3 artists have you listened to obsessively in the last month? I love the new Nick Jonas Album. Also, Ray Charles, and Elton John.

What did you want to be when you were growing up? I thought I would be a scientist or a business man.

What is your most embarrassing moment? When things went haywire during "Thinking out loud" on the voice.

What is your favorite phrase? Smooches

Cat person, dog person, or both?  Dog person... But I'm on tour too much to have pets. :-(

Books or movies? Movies. I'm very visual and digest things better that I can take in in a single sitting.

What would most people be surprised to learn about you? That I'm a geek. I love video games, comic books, and science. As a kid, I made my own national geographic t-shirt with an iron on and wore it until it fell apart.
