Q&A with Seth Glier

What is your most memorable or off-the-wall touring experience? Most of those I can't really share online without incriminating myself and many others. Let's just say we had a lot of fun touring with Lisa Marie Presley and her crew last year.

Which of your songs is your favorite and why? I'm a big of "standing still" off my new album. It's been going over so well live and I'm proud that it's a social action song with a story. I tried to channel Woody Guthrie when I wrote it. Woody was never preachy. He always put the social issues he was singing about into the lives of other people so the listener felt the message rather than just "hearing" it.

If you could open for any artist in the next year, who would it be? I would have to say Ed Sheeran would be my pick! I just love what's he's doing. He's writing pop music but still telling stories and doesn't compromise integrity.

What 3 artists have you listened to obsessively in the last month? I'm a huge Gabe Dixon fan and always have his album in the car. Lately I've been listening to a lot of the Sam Cooke live at the Copa cabana club. That voice is just timeless. The last Daft punk record has been playing a lot on our late night drives on tour. That album is so elegant.

What would most people be surprised to learn about you? I love to cook. When i get home after a tour it's what I most look forward to. My mind completely clears when I'm cooking. I actually find it a very similar process to playing music. You simply have to respect the ingredients you got.
