Music Makes Life Better for Operation Smile feat. Rocknoceros

As every family with youngsters in the Washington, DC area knows, Rocknoceros is three guys: Coach, Williebob, and Boogie Bennie. They have been making award-winning music together since 2005 and are celebrating their 10th year together with a brand new album.

Coach and Boogie, best friends since they were five years old, endlessly listened to Beatles records in Boogie's suburban bedroom while "waiting for Williebob," who appeared on the scene in high school. The three have been making music ever since, although it wasn't until 2005, when Coach was raising young'uns of his own, that the inspiration for Rocknoceros finally crystallized.

In its first decade as a band Rocknoceros has entertained tens of thousands of fans throughout the country and gained significant national recognition with performances at Lollapalooza, Austin City Limits, Wolf Trap, and The Kennedy Center.

With the pending release of Plymouth Rockers, the band’s fifth record, Rocknoceros have hit their creative peak. The new batch of songs entertain and educate in equal measure. So Come to Jammin’ Java and help them celebrate the release of their new record!

Robbie Schaefer A Concert to Support Syrian Refugees

Robbie Schaefer

In March and June of this year, Robbie and his non-profit organization, OneVoice, visited Pikpa Solidarity, a small camp on the island of Lesvos, Greece hosting 100 of the most vulnerable refugees from the Syrian war. OneVoice’s mission was to offer music and art as tools for healing and story-telling. The residents at Pikpa are Syrians, Afghans, Iraqis, and Pakistanis. They are fathers and mothers, teachers and nurses, musicians and children. They are, indeed, all of us. In addition to music, this concert will feature stories and video from Robbie’s time at the camp, as well as opportunities to fund OneVoice’s ongoing efforts to support the residents of Pikpa camp.
