Artist Q&A

@JamminJavaMei's Q&A With Arc Iris

Arc Iris is the orchestral pop project of Jocie Adams, a former core member of The Low Anthem. They're here Wednesday night with Juana Molina! Check out some outstanding reviews from NPR and The New York Times.

Where and when was your first show?

We played at Pianos in December of 2013 to debut the songs for Arc Iris, Arc Iris.  It was dreamy.

What band/artist would you consider to be your main influence?

Joni Mitchell, Leonard Cohen, Tom Waits, Randy Newman, Van Dyke Parks

What is one of your most memorable or off-the-wall touring experiences?

We got a flat tire in Asheville. Good old southern hospitality led us to the helping hands of triple A's one and only, Anthony, the mail man as well as the largest man in the world who called himself tiny (indicated by a name tag on his tiny vest).  It was. .. fun!

Favorite Food:

Humongous salads, chocolate, and macaroni and cheese.

Favorite Drink:

Smoothies and good Bourbon

If you were to have a film/movie based on your career, which actors or band would you select to portray yourself?

KISS with Rod Stewart as Jocie Adams

What two words would best describe your music?

Rainbows and Fireworks
