Bushwalla is here TONIGHT w/ Jim Boggia and Miles Zuniga! CHeck out the Q&A Mei did with him via email.
Where and when was your first show?
My first show was actually 29 years ago in a youth theater company called "Kids on Broadway". They were based out of Cleveland Ohio. That's where I was born.
My first Bushwalla show was not even a Bushwalla show. It' was a the legendary Java Joe's in Ocean Beach California.
Back then I just went as "Mr. Funny man". A kind of one man Boy Band with no plan.
What band/artist would you consider to be your main influence?
My "main" influence is everything I see. Anything that moves me. Sometimes it's a tree or a bug.
I have so many people that influence me as well. I couldn't name just one so here goes.
Bill Irwin, Wayne White, Jason Mraz, Bob Schneider, Wayne Coyne, Ira Glass, Trey Spegal, Marina Abramovic.
What is one of your most memorable or off-the-wall touring experiences?
- I once hosted an open mic Naked . That was freeing.
- I was the on court announcer for the WNBA in Cleveland. That was weird
- I was a professional "Barney". that was kinda dumb.
- I once did a trust exercise where you Fall and someone catches you. They were not there. I hit the ground and twisted my back out of place the day before I flew to Europe
Favorite Food: My food is my medicine. So I’m a conscious nutritional kind of guy.

If you were to have a film/movie based on your career, which actors or band would you select to portray yourself?
Any one from the cast of Golden Girls.
Cat-Person, Dog-Person, or both…? Both but I lean toward Cats.
What two words would best describe your music? Shag Party!
