Artist Q&A

@JamminJavaMei's Q&A With EGYPT

Egypt was one of the top bands on the scene in the late 90's. They still have a rabid local fanbase - evidenced by their nearly sold out show here December 27! So even if you don't know them from back in the day, you'll still be floored by the musicianship and energy of a legendary live band!

Where and when was your first show? First Show for Egypt was the beginning of our meteoric rise to power and the first step of our diabolical plan for world domination through superior grooves and beats. The best part was that we were just opening for the "Bigger Band" that the record label was looking at that night but the suits got there early, saw us blow everyone in the place away and they passed on the "Bigger Band" and signed us I said...Domination

What band/artist would you consider to be your main influence? Fishbone, Chili Peppers, Spyz, Living Color, James Brown, P-Funk

What is one of your most memorable or off-the-wall touring experiences? Colorado tour in the mid 90's, In a raging snowstorm.... we drove over Donner pass where those family's all froze to death trying to get over the mountain in identical weather... I thought we were going to die that night and have to eat each other’s flesh to stay alive....but we made it over and had Waffle House at the mountain base instead.

Favorite Food: Andy = Fried Chicken Joe = Pad Thai Kevin = Soft Tacos Jeff = Beef Wellington

Favorite Drink: Booze = Everyone

If you were to have a film/movie based on your career, which actors or band would you select to portray yourself? The actors from Reservoir Dogs would play all the band members and the two movies would not be very different. Instead of guns and blood there would be guitars and blood.

What two words would best describe your music? F@CKING AWESOME !!!!!!
