The show has been sold out for a while but check out this fun Q&A with Nick Hexum and be sure to check out the new music from The Nick Hexum Quintet!
Where and when was your first show?
In the seventh grade talent show at Arbor Heights Jr. High I performed "A Tribute to the Clash." We did two scheduled Clash covers. Then the audience started yelling encore and we tried to rip into "Should I Stay or Should I Go"? and the music teacher ran onstage and pulled the plug on our amps. It was so 7th grade punk rock!
What band/artist would you consider to be your main influence?
What is one of your most memorable or off-the-wall touring experiences?
One that comes to mind is the time we played a small club in Manhattan called Coney Island High. It was totally packed and the place was going to crazy that we had to keep taking a knee onstage because there was no oxygen. I think P-Nut puked onstage.
Favorite Food: Sushi
Favorite Drink: Red Bull
If you were to have a film/movie based on your career, which actors or band would you select to portray yourself?
I would insist on playing myself!
What two words would best describe your music?
Explorative and melodic.
