Paradise Fears is a band from South Dakota. They've toured nationally and had success on the charts and have a powerful online following. We're excited to have them at JJ for TWO NIGHTS - Tuesday and Wednesday! To celebrate these shows, we'll have a special beverage concocted by Cole the bartender and it'll be available for their shows and during the week.! Giveaway! Feel like seeing us twice!? If you purchase tickets to both Jammin Java shows, August 19 & 20, you're automatically entered into a raffle to win an autographed prize pack!
Where and when was your first show?
We played the Dakota Dome, which sounds awesome, but wasn't, really, because it was a New Years Eve town-wide party, and the stage for music was just a couple of microphones over in one of the corners. And it was just our friends and family, huddled around us, but I'm pretty sure we still went crazy, flailing all over the place like we were playing MSG or something.
What band/artist would you consider to be your main influence?
Hard to pinpoint a single one, but I definitely think Jack's Mannequin or Coldplay have the most traits that we see in ourselves.
What is one of your most memorable or off-the-wall touring experiences?
One night, very early in our touring career, we blew a trailer tire at 3 am in Ohio, and nowhere nearby was open that could fix it until 7 am, but we couldn't leave the vehicle there on the side of the road alone, so we had to grab out warm clothes and sleep next to it on the side of the road. Really cut our teeth on that one.
Favorite Food: Soft pretzels, maybe? Raspberries, also. Favorite Drink: YooHoo, chocolate drink.
If you were to have a film/movie based on your career, which actors or band would you select to portray yourself?
I would probably push pretty hard for Leonardo DiCarprio to play me, but I guess they could settle for Zac Efron if Leo isn't available.
Cat-Person, Dog-Person, or both? [see pic!]
What two words would best describe your music? dynamic, intentional
