Artist Q&A

@JamminJavaMei's Q&A With Trevor Gordon Hall And Dan LaVoie

DanLavoie1TGH Trevor Gordon Hall, Dan LaVoie, and Shun Ng are here Sunday night for the Extraordinary Night of Guitars show! These three guitarists are pushing the limits of the acoustic, fingerstyle guitar genre!

Trevor Gordon Hall:

Where and when was your first show?

My first show was at a YMCA back in 2002 while I was in high school. I was absolutely overcome with nerves.  I started playing and the room was full, then some people trailed out, then some more, eventually it was just myself and the soundguy.  I closed my eyes to dip into a sweet melody during the bridge of a tune and looked up to find even him gone.  Yeah not a very affirming first gig!

What band/artist would you consider to be your main influence?

Anything and everything thats good!  Bach to Pat Metheny to George Winston to Bob Dylan.  Anything and everything that moves me. It comes in various forms but is all one thing to me.  Music!

What is one of your most memorable or off-the-wall touring experiences?

Playing in Iceland!  Those people are simply amazing!  Much like the fans in Italy of course too.  Each show is a unique experience to me but those definitely stand out.  The crowds there listened with such intensity and enthusiasm.  It was hard to stop!

Favorite Food: Mac and Cheese

Favorite Drink:  Vanilla Coke

If you were to have a film/movie based on your career, which actors or band would you select to portray yourself?

Definitely not sure....perhaps Matt Damon?
