"We're a relatively new band, but we both have a long history of performing with our previous projects - Ty Greenstein (Girlyman) and Ingrid Elizabeth (Coyote Grace). So, we'll both be answering each question personally since these are some of our first shows together as Mouths of Babes!" Where and when was your first show?
IE: My first show was in 1999 at a pagan music festival, singing in a celtic-psychedelic-folk-rock band called Green Crown. I'm pretty sure everyone but me (on stage and in the crowd) was tripping on something. So I might be the only one who actually remembers that show.
TG: One of (my previous band) Girlyman's first shows back in the early 2000s was at a place called "Van Gogh's Ear" somewhere in NJ. We got paid in strawberry milkshakes.
What band/artist would you consider to be your main influence?
IE: Currently, mine would be a holy trinity of Grace Potter, Ray Lamontagne, and Marvin Gaye.
TG: My first and biggest songwriting influence is Paul Simon. But I was hugely influenced by Indigo Girls as well.
What is one of your most memorable or off-the-wall touring experiences?
MOB: With almost two decades of touring between us, there are truly too many unbelievable and never-to-be-repeated experiences on the road. However, the current favorite was the time that Girlyman & Coyote Grace played the Bee Gees "Stayin' Alive" on the main stage at the Rocky Mountain Folks Festival and the whole crowd of about 5,000 people jumped up from their lawn chairs to boogie and sing along. Pretty unforgettable.
IE: Who's buying?
TG: Foods made with butter, cheese, and love.
IE: Seasonally speaking, it would have to be a 3-way tie between Chai, Apple Cider, and Eggnog. Which when combined would be a Chaidernog?
If you were to have a film/movie based on your career, which actors or band would you select to portray yourself?
IE: This may be self-flattery, but... Christina Hendricks (Joan from "Mad Men").
TG: Justin Bieber. Duh.
Cat-Person, Dog-Person, or both?
IE: Equal opportunity, I guess. Mostly, I'm down with OPP. Other People's Pets.
TG: Dog person. All the way. Now, let me show you 1,000 pictures of my dog on my phone. Okay, just one.
What two words would best describe your music?
IE: F*CK YEAH
TG: AllThe Feelings
